As Program Manager of Supply Chain Execution at AEO, Inc., you will play an integral role in developing the overall supply chain plan and ensuring optimal product flow through AEO’s global supply chain and logistics processes. This includes planning for freight among our overseas and domestic logistics partners, US deconsolidation operations, and US & Canadian Distribution Centers. You will work closely with the Global Supply Chain Leadership Team (SCLT) and with key cross-functional teams, to ensure the predictability and reliability of product flow while anticipating roadblocks and proactively working across teams to deliver solutions.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing the overall supply chain execution plan including yearly, monthly, and weekly plans; collaborating with Global Distribution Operations team, the Global Logistics team and within the Supply Chain Strategy, Planning & Execution team to arrive at plans and working closely with the SCLT to ensure proper execution against these plans
  • Driving pro-active upstream planning with AEO’s Merchandise Planning and Production & Sourcing teams; ensuring better alignment of “need by” dates while developing the overall planning for product flow in order to improve predictability and reliability of freight movement and receipts tracking
  • Constantly collaborating with the Global Logistics team (Inbound/Outbound) and Global Distribution Operations team to ensure we’re holding our internal teams accountable; consistently hitting “need by” delivery dates and providing on-going coordination and communication with the teams that are key stakeholders for these deliveries
  • Developing and managing AEO’s “chase strategy” from a supply chain execution perspective; selecting modes of operations to best execute this strategy; and working with the Global Inbound Logistics team in order to best execute “chase” product flow into the distribution network
  • Managing the supply chain’s overall spend and variance including the drivers of the variance; working closely with the supply chain accounting and validation teams properly communicate and accrue for financial impacts of any transportation-related spend
  • Developing plans to mitigate late arriving freight / receipts; pulling levers to execute various transportation and operating models in order to provide reliable delivery of freight through all relevant supply chain touch points, adjusting as needed based on the situation, timing and needs of the business
  • Supporting best-in-class peak/holiday performance by playing an integral role in executing the peak holiday plans across Global Logistics, Global Distribution Operations and Origin Operations 
  • Implementing various planning tool(s) that provide objective decision planning; leveraging these tools to identify optimal flow strategies to best achieve the company’s goals including collaborating with AEO’s Merchandise Planning & Allocation teams to execute these flow strategies based on margin and “need by” date requirements
  • Working with AEO Merchants and Inventory Planners to evaluate and identify the criticality of freight; effectively prioritizing the flow of goods across the supply chain and communicating across teams for optimal team performance
  • Creating, fostering and contributing to a learning organization; constantly learning from any deviations to plans and performing root cause analysis to better understand the impact of planning and execution decisions/actions
  • Working with the Supply Chain’s Network Design & Activation team to internalize the changes to the distribution network; continuously driving planning and execution efficiency into and across the overall supply chain in order to best meet the company’s strategic goals and improve services to the customer
  • Actively partnering with the appropriate leadership across the SCLT and network to ensure alignment and best-practices cross-sharing where appropriate; striving for good, better, best always
  • Fostering collaborative relationships with various leaders and serving as a role model leader for the organization; displaying thought leadership and alignment with the company’s strategies and core values
  • Driving supply chain efficiency/effectiveness as well as solutions to meet ever-changing customer service expectations; pushing innovative solutions for the betterment of our customers as well as in support of the overall business strategy
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, Finance or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in Planning, Allocation, Merchandising or Logistics; retailer/Omni-channel preferred
  • 3-5+ years’ experience managing planning & execution-related programs
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, project management & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within and across teams
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
